Greg has served Suncrest since 1996 and loves the vitality and authenticity of this church.  He’s passionate about making sure Suncrest is never focused on ourselves more than others and is most energized when people find their way back to God here.

We've designed our church to help each person grow in the qualities of a Christ-follower.  To learn more about...

Getting Started at Suncrest
OR Connecting in relationships where truth meets life

Contributing by Serving

David came to Suncrest after spending almost 20 years in an agricultural business in Illinois.  "It took God a while to get my full attention; fortunately, he did not give up!"  David enjoys travel, genealogy, and reading.  He and his wife, Linda, have two daughters who "keep life interesting and challenging."  He loves working on the "Contribute by Serving" at Suncrest because he has seen how excited and blessed people feel after they have served.

Caring about People Far from God

Doug is from Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain.  In other words, he feels at home in the windy environment of Northwest Indiana.  He is married to Sheila and has four children, Ethan, Daisy, Grace, and Benjamin.  As one of the pastors, he loves to share in the teaching on Sunday morning.  "I love helping people discover and sometimes rediscover how life changing Jesus is."  Doug enjoys reading, movies, music, and running (except in the winter).  Doug serves as the Campus pastor for Suncrest-East and oversees Suncrest's outreach effort.

Cultivating a Personal Relationship with Jesus

Bobby loves his wife Beka who "is a treasure... super talented and beautiful".  His daughter Mia is beautiful and smart like her mom.  Sawyer, the destroyer, chases his big sister around the house.  Cooper, the comedian, has the kind of smile that makes you forget why he was in trouble to begin with.  Elliot is their youngest and is into eating, sleeping and..um...sleeping.  Bobby is driven to help people take their next steps in faith.  Next steps sometimes occur through an "aha" moment on a Sunday morning, through a baptism class or a mentoring relationship.  These moments are the ones that shape now and into eternity.  Bobby also enjoys The Simpsons, volleyball, and food...especially meat...with a side of meat.

Wesley Blackburn

Wesley is a 21-year-old college student at Cincinnati Christian University from Columbus, Ohio and serves at Suncrest as the Cultivate (Worship) intern.  He is a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and exhibits horribly questionable judgment in his decision to continue rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals.  Wesley enjoys listening to music (especially Death Cab for Cutie), playing on his new Mac Book Pro, eating food (especially when Buffalo Wild Wings is involved), and shopping, which probably makes him the manliest guy on staff at Suncrest.  Wesley loves to laugh and connect in relationships with other people, has a lot of fun leading worship, and really treasures the experience of leading people to learn what it means to follow Christ.

Children's Ministry (Infant - 5th Grade)

Sue has been at Suncrest since the beginning.  She loves to see kids contribute with a heart and passion for Jesus.  Suncrest kids are "good news" to others who don't yet know Suncrest as their church home.  She's thankful for Suncrest parents who want their kids to "win" by being connected to those who model the life of a Christ-follower.  Sue also enjoys the Cubs, NASCAR, and IU Men's Basketball.

Julie and Scott have five wonderful children, two cats, and a dog.  She'd love to say she loves peace and quiet, but she's not sure she remembers quite what that is.  She loves sports (especially running, basketball, and soccer), helping in their kids' schools, and she's a big fan of just hanging out with family and friends.  "Being a part of children's ministry is such fun, and one of my favorite parts is connecting with the parents and getting to know them as well as their very special children."  Julie serves as Suncrest-East's Children's Director.

Scott loves Chicago sports teams, playing virtually any sport, and the never-ending task of home improvement.  He loves seeing the transformation of a child who initially resists going to their class to one who looks forward to Sundays, as well as the pleasure it brings to the parents knowing their child is happy, well-cared for, and learning about Jesus.

Student Life Ministry (Middle/High School)

Jared is a Starbucks addict and life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan who also cheers for The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Jared and his wife Amy have one son, Gibson (named after the World Series Champion and Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson), and one daughter, Alyce.  Jared loves being able to "do life" with the students of Suncrest and their friends.

Chris enjoys spending time with his parents, younger brother, and older sister.  He loves watching students grow in their relationship with Jesus and especially loves to see Christ's love make sense to a student for the first time and the expression of joy from the realization.  Chris also enjoys playing baseball, basketball, and watching the Cubs in their never ending struggle for a World Series.  Chris serves as Suncrest East Campus Student Director.
